St. John’s Church Retreat

Camp Luther - TBD

Our 2022 October Retreat to Camp Luther was a success with over 6 different families in attendance. We are looking at having another retreat to Camp Luther in 2024. Stay tuned for details to follow in the months ahead.

WORSHIP FOR SENIORS & SHUT-INS
3rd Tuesdays of the Month at 11:00 am

2024 Dates are listed below - subject to change

We are bringing back our midday Worship Service that is geared towards Seniors (55+) & Shut-ins. This worship service will be a condensed version of a Sunday morning worship service with music, readings, a sermon, and holy communion. However, all of the service, including communion, will take place from your pew in the back of the church. Pastor will bring communion to everyone instead of coming forward, limiting the amount of movement that takes place.

Following worship, we provide a FREE Lunch in the fellowship hall for all who attend. There will also be a time for visiting, conversation, card playing, etc. for those who desire.

The worship service and meal are open to all members of St. John and the community who would like to worship & visit. We will meet the following dates:

  • Tuesday, April 16th
  • Tuesday, May 28th - (4th Tuesday of the month)
  • Tuesday, June 18th
  • Tuesday, July 16th
  • Tuesday, August 27th - (4th Tuesday of the month)
  • Tuesday, September 17th
  • Tuesday, October 15th

** Please note: the service will take place on
the 3rd Tuesday of the month; unless otherwise noted.

Little children, let us not love in word or talk
but in deed and in truth.” 1 John 3:18

Put your Faith into Action

“And whatever you do, in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” Colossians 3:17

Those words above from St. Paul remind us that whatever we do, is to be done in the name of Jesus and Paul calls us to be a living-sacrifice (Romans 12:1) that is to offer our lives in service to the Lord and working together as the body of Christ to love one another and helping those in need. The life of a Christian is one of service. The Lord serving us and we in gratitude for our Saviors dying love on the cross and forgiveness freely given to likewise serve others.

With that in mind, St. John’s is calling on all our members to “Put your faith into action” as we seek to sacrifice some of our time, as we allow the love of Christ to flow through us to the community around us in acts of love and mercy.

While we do not have a specific day in mind at this time, if you know of a member of St. John or a community member of need of some help. Please let us know in the church office. We would love to organize a time to help serve those in need. Sharing the love and mercy of Christ as it has been shared with us.

We love our neighbors by meeting them where their needs are, going to them and seeking nothing in return. This is the genuine love that Paul speaks about in Romans 12. So, please join us in word & deed as we seek to make an impact in our community, by loving others as Christ loves us.
